Last month we took a range of our favourite MzTEK projects up to a TeenTech event in Uttoxeter Racecourse, for a day of exciting exhibitions and workshops for school kids.

TeenTech runs lively one-day events to help young teenagers see the wide range of career possibilities in Science, Engineering and Technology.

We were soooo excited to have been invited personally by our all time futurist techie heroine  Maggie Philbin! :)  Remember Tomorrows World? Now a days she’s presenting the brilliant Bang Goes The Theory, as well as running TeenTech of course.

Events like these always find it hard to get a balance of women and men showcasing and talking about technology, so it was great to be able to present work by women working with technology to young people.  The fact that all the technology was creative and most of it was interactive was a crowd pleaser.

TeenTech are an award winning, industry-led initiative, founded in 2008 by Maggie Philbin and Chris Dodson to help the “X Factor” generation understand their true potential and the real opportunities available in the contemporary STEM workplace.
