“Quick, dirty, botched & fun…how to get discarded machinery to do interesting things”
Another fabulous techie workshop by MzTEK for women!
Think “scrap heap challenge” with house hold goods such as VCR’s, answermachine, clock radio’s, etc…
In this workshop you will be guided through how to hack appliances, find useful bits, bypass and rewire bits, whilst recognizing safety hazards and creating something wacky and wild at the same time!
It is recommend that you have rudimentary level of experience in electronics for this workshop.
Workshop leader James Larson likes to do strange (and generally dangerous) things with electricity.
He is a regular Dorkbot presenter, and creator of such things as the VCR Cat Feeder, featured in Make-Digital, and the Kinky Boot Pong game.
Take a look at some of his inventions HERE
For this workshop we are looking for donations of VCR’s, clock radio’s, cordless telephones, answering machines, DVD players, Printers… let us know if you can bring any of these along to the workshop.
